Scheduling Classes & Courses at Penn State
In this guide we have used the Penn State Scheduling website for our demonstration. You can visit the site yourself by clicking here. From that page you can select any campus you want and search for classes offered in each semester.
Penn State Course Scheduling Home Page
- From the Semester field you can select several semesters both past and future to see what is being offered and plan your schedules semesters in advance.
- From the Campus location you can select which campus the courses are being offered.
- From the Continuing Education Location you can search for night classes or weekend classes that are being offered at different times than the normal sections of class.
- Abbrev: Class abbreviation (ie.. I B = International Business)
- Number: Class number
- First Letter: search function
Penn State Advanced Course Search
- From the Advanced Search you can filter your class results based on things such as empty classes, honors classes, classes offered only on the Web or even the day of the week you want to take them on (great for keeping those Friday's free)
- When you get the search criteria that you want entered, click
- You will now be brought to a screen that lists classes being offered based on your search criteria
Classes Being Offered at Penn State
- Write down or copy the “Sched Number” onto a spreadsheet, as this is the number you will need when it comes time to register.
- To get a description of the course, click on the course abbreviation which appears as a hyperlink to the left of the course name.
This will bring up a basic one or two sentence description of the course and tell you certain pre-requisite information. To get an in depth course description; click the course abbreviation hyperlink again - a much larger and more in depth description of the course will appear
